Lot Description:
The South African Hunting Safari is for up to 6 hunters (2x1). Included are 5 days of daily rates (lodging, meals, and all beverages) and $1000 toward trophy fees. Of the 5 days, 1 day will include an afternoon of bird hunting for dove, francolin, and guinea fowl which will be cooked over a hot fire and served while in camp. If upgraded to 10 hunting days, an additional $2000 toward trophy fees will also be included. Not included in the donation is airfare to/from Johannesburg, day of arrival and day of departure, conservation fees, VAT (value added tax), dip and pack if taxidermy is done in the U.S., and gratuities. Hunt may be taken from March through October 2021, 2022, or 2023. This 5-day donation is valued up to $15,000. If upgraded to 10 days, the donation is valued up to $17,000.

Staggered and extended bidding times:
Lots will end 1 minute apart. When an item receives a bid during the last 1 minute before its closing time, that item's end time will reset to 1 minute. This will NOT impact the time remaining of all following lots. The reset of time is done to allow all bidders a chance to win. All lots will close and sell when there are no more bids after 1 minute.

Payment Information:

  • Upon the close of each lot, the winning bidder will immediately receive a confirmation e-mail and/or text from Gavel Roads that they have won the item.
  • Payment will not be taken at the night of the auction. No items will be released until paid for.
  • The winning bidder will receive an invoice of total purchases from Gavel Roads via e-mail as soon as the entire auction has completed.
  • Winning bidders will pay Andale Knights of Columbus at the time of pickup if paying with check or cash. Credit card payments can be made in the winning bidder's Gavel Roads account (3% service fee will be added). If paying with a credit card, a paid invoice will be required a time of item pickup. Go to the appropriate invoice in your account and click the payment icon at the top right to pay.
  • Buyers will work with Andale Knights of Columbus to arrange delivery or pick up of the item(s) won. The Andale Knights of Columbus have scheduled the following times for pickup at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Andale:
    • Monday, April 12 -- 9:00am to 11:00am
    • Tuesday, April 13 -- 4:00pm to 6:00 pm
    • Wednesday, April 14 -- 5:30pm to 7:30pm
  • If these times will not work or you would like the item shipped to you, contact Tony Veith at 316-648-7180 to arrange shipping. Cost incurred to ship items is at the buyer's expense.

Gavel Roads has waived its Buyer's Premium for this benefit auction so that all proceeds will go toward helping our community.
