"Air to Air" B-29 Doc Framed Photograph
Estimated Value: $250
Lot Description:
This 16"x20" wrapped canvas photograph was taken of B-29 Doc while in flight by Wichita photographer Brett Schauf. Doc is a B-29 Superfortress, and one of 1,644 manufactured in Wichita during World War II. After rotting away for 42 years in the Mojave Desert, it was moved to Wichita where the warbird was laboriously restored by hundreds of volunteers to flying status.
This vibrant and spectacular shot of Doc will be great in any aviator's home. If you are one of the many admirers of Doc, you will be sure to get lost in the details of this piece. Brett Schauf is a local photographer who is contracted to take flight with Doc on any voyages. You can typically find Brett in the cockpit with camera in hand, or on one of the small follower planes for exterior shots.
